At our office in Sigurds gate 8 you may receive information, guidance and help when you arrive to Bergen to apply for work. We will help you write your CV, give you information and try to open doors for you on the job market. The office will help you get in contact with SUA (Service center for foreign workers), NAV and other public offices. We maintain contact with several employers and employment agencies and will help you schedule job interviews.
Apart from this we can also help you with other important aspects of your life, like finding a place to stay, translating and interpretation, and general guidance.
Language and Coffee
Caritas Bergen invites you to our ”språkkafé” gathering every thursday and friday. We will serve coffee and tea with some small snacks. The offer stands for everyone who wants to practice their norwegian, and also to meet new people. In our ”språkkafé” we read and speak in small groups! It is free to join and everyone is welcome.
Every thursday afternoon our Knitting Club gathers in Birgittakjelleren by the Catholic Church of St. Paul in Nygårdsgaten 3. This is a nice offer for those who wish to enjoy a more relaxing kind of handwork. The club is also an important social area, and you can practice your norwegian.
